The Emerald Ladies Golf Association, ELGA, hold an annual golf tournament in the spring to benefit The Journey of Hope Cancer Support Center right here in New Bern.  One can sponsor a tee sign, purchase a ribbon for the ribbon tree in honor or in memory of someone, play in the tournament, make a monetary donation, donate a door prize, or donate items for Journey of Hope's Cancer Care Bags.  100% of the proceeds are donated to Journey of Hope providing support and services to cancer patients and their families right here in New Bern.  ELGA also collects items for JOH's Cancer Care Bags.  Items needed are:  hand sanitizers, lip gloss, pocket size packs of tissues, puzzle/word search books, hard candy, men's and ladies white socks, small blankets, and gas gift cards.  The 2019 tournament raised $4500 for this worthwhile cause.
